Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 22, 2026
ClearTech Garage Doors is a locally-owned garage door repair and installation business operating in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Manitoba law.
What we collect
We collect personal information when you contact us, request a quote, or book service. That typically includes:
- Your name, phone number, and email address
- The service address where work is being performed
- A description of the issue or service you're requesting
- Any photos or details you choose to share about your garage door
- Payment information at the time of service (handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers)
We also collect limited technical information when you visit this website: pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and referring source. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally. See the "Analytics" section below.
How we use it
We use personal information to provide the service you've asked for and to operate the business. Specifically:
- Confirming appointments and dispatching a technician
- Issuing quotes, invoices, and receipts
- Following up about completed work or warranty questions
- Responding to questions you send us by phone, email, or web form
- Meeting recordkeeping obligations under Canadian tax law
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising profiles. We do not send marketing email unless you specifically opt in.
Service providers we share with
We use a small number of third-party services to run the business. Each receives only the information they need for the function they perform:
- Jobber — the field-service platform that handles our booking form, scheduling, quotes, and invoicing. When you submit the form on /book, your contact details and request go directly to Jobber. Their privacy practices are described at getjobber.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and provides privacy-respecting analytics (aggregated, no individual tracking).
- Payment processor — handles card transactions at the time of service. We see only the last four digits and the authorization status.
We may also share information when required by law, by court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we have an active relationship with you or as long as we're required to by law. Service records (job details, invoices, warranty info) are retained for at least seven years to meet Canadian tax recordkeeping rules. Customer contact details (name, phone, email, service address) stay in our Jobber account so we can follow up on future work, warranty questions, or service requests, including inquiries that didn't turn into a job. We don't routinely delete these. Website analytics data is aggregated and not personally identifiable. You can ask us to delete personal information about you at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Withdraw consent at any time for non-essential uses
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we've mishandled your information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and core performance metrics at the network edge without setting tracking cookies or building a profile of individual visitors. The Jobber booking form may set cookies necessary to keep your session functional while you fill it out. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site trackers.
Security
Personal information is stored on systems operated by the service providers listed above, each of which uses industry-standard encryption and access controls. No system is perfect — if a breach ever affected your information, we would notify you in line with PIPEDA breach notification requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business grows or as the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent substantive revision. For material changes, we'll do our best to give notice on the home page.
