SkyLink Opener Guides

SkyLink is a Canadian brand, and plenty of Winnipeg garages have one, often installed by a builder or picked up at a big-box store. Most SkyLink openers in service today are from the ATOMS line, which works differently from LiftMaster or Genie: instead of a learn button, the motor unit has SET, UP, and DOWN buttons and a small display that shows a letter or number. SkyLink also makes universal remotes, so a SkyLink remote in your car does not always mean a SkyLink opener on the ceiling.

Which SkyLink opener do I have?

Check the label on the motor unit before anything else. If the model number starts with ATR, these guides are written for it. Older ATOMS units that came with an LCD wall console use the same buttons but longer timing, with a 2-minute window instead of 30 seconds. If the label says another brand, use that brand's guides, even if the remote is a SkyLink.

Where to look: On ATOMS openers, the SET button sits on the motor unit beside the UP and DOWN buttons and a small LED display.
