SkyLink ATOMS Flashing Light and Display Codes

On a SkyLink ATOMS opener, the light flashes and the display shows a letter to tell you what stopped it. Ten flashes with a b means the safety sensors. Fifteen flashes with an F means the door hit too much resistance.

Works for:
SkyLink ATOMS openers with the small display on the motor unit.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Count the flashes of the opener light right after the door stops or refuses to move.

  2. Step 2: Check the letter on the small display on the motor unit.

  3. Step 3: Match it to the table below.

  4. Step 4: Fix the obvious cause and run the door once. If the code comes back, note it before you call.

What does each code mean?

CodeWhat it meansWhat to do
10 flashes, display shows bSafety sensors blocked or out of line while closingClear the beam, clean the lenses, and align the sensors until both LEDs glow steady.
15 flashes, display shows FForce limit exceeded. The door met too much resistance and didn't fully open or close.Disconnect the opener and lift the door by hand. If it's heavy or sticks, the door needs attention, not the opener. An over-tightened chain or belt also shows F; loosen the tension slightly.
5 flashesThe door ran longer than 30 seconds without finishing, so the opener stopped itCheck the door for binding, lubricate the rollers and hinges, and check its balance. On a belt drive, a slipping belt can also do it.
3 flashesThe wall console is in remote lock mode, so remotes and keypads are disabledTurn the lock off at the wall console.
Light keeps flashingWall console wires are shortedLook for a staple through the wire or a pinched spot between the console and the opener.
Display shows AThe auto-close timer is counting downNothing is wrong. The door will close on its own. Change or turn off the timer at the wall console.

Still not working? Here is what it usually is.

  • An F that keeps coming back usually means a weak spring or a binding door, not an opener fault.
  • A b with clean, lined-up sensors points at the sensor wiring.
  • No lights, no display, and no response points at power or the board.

We diagnose the whole system, opener, door, sensors, and remotes, and tell you plainly whether it's a quick fix or time for a new unit.
