How to Set the Travel Limits on a SkyLink ATOMS Opener
Hold SET for about 5 seconds until the display shows 1, hold UP to move the door to the fully open position and press SET, then hold DOWN to the closed position and press SET. Run the door open and closed once to finish. The display counts from 1 to 4 as you go.

Before you start
- A stepladder
- A clear door path. The door moves during setup.
- A 2x4 board for the reversal test at the end
Step by step
Step 1: Press and hold SET for about 5 seconds, until the display changes from P to 1. Don't let go at the P.
Step 2: Press and hold UP until the door reaches the fully open position you want. Tap UP or DOWN to fine-tune.
Step 3: Press and release SET to save the open position. The display shows 2.
Step 4: Press and hold DOWN until the door is about 5 cm (2 inches) from the floor, then tap DOWN until the bottom seal is lightly pressed against the floor.
Step 5: Press and release SET to save the closed position. The display shows 3.
Step 6: Open the door with the remote or wall console, then close it. The display moves to 4 and goes off once the limits are set.
Step 7: Lay a 2x4 flat on the floor under the door and close it. The door must reverse when it touches the board. If it doesn't, the closed position is set too high. Lower it slightly and test again.
Still not working? Here is what it usually is.
- The door stops short at the floor in winter. Ice or a frozen seal changes where closed is. Clear it first.
- The opener shows F and stops partway. A weak spring or binding track makes the door too heavy, and limits won't fix that.
- The limits won't save, which points at the board.
We diagnose the whole system, opener, door, sensors, and remotes, and tell you plainly whether it's a quick fix or time for a new unit.
